From Page to Proof: A New Path for Storytellers

PRESS RELEASE

GET IT MADE and The Writers Lab Launch ‘From Page to Proof,’ Turning Scripts Into Market-Ready Proofs — Not Just Prizes

With the traditional screenplay industrial complex collapsing and fewer reliable pathways for emerging writers, GET IT MADE and The Writers Lab are partnering to launch From Page to Proof — a new initiative designed so every entrant can walk away with real value.

Unlike traditional contests where many writers leave empty handed, From Page to Proof guarantees early submitters access to two exclusive workshops: one led by GET IT MADE producers on production readiness and market viability, and another led by The Writers Lab mentors on character and story craft. Together, these sessions sharpen projects from both creative and practical perspectives before judging begins.

“Most screenplay contests are basically lotteries,” says Matt Boda, co-founder of GET IT MADE. “From Page to Proof actually gives something back. Early entrants gain insights from insider-led workshops and access to tools at no extra cost. Even if you don’t win, you win.”

This initiative awards the grand prize winner a produced Proof of Concept (either a short film or cinematic trailer), with a notable director to be announced, along with a 90-day GET IT MADE membership. Five additional finalists will each receive a 90-day GET IT MADE membership for mentorship, packaging, and development.

For The Writers Lab, known for championing underrepresented voices in screenwriting, this partnership reflects their commitment to expanding access beyond their own community. Nitza Wilon, co-founder of TWL says “It’s about creating more opportunities for storytellers during a period of unprecedented uncertainty.”

Submissions open September 2 and remain open through October 25, with early entrants locking in the lowest submission fee and access to both workshops.
