A fast-paced 8-session writing intensive where a group of five talented writers will craft industry-standard pilot drafts for their Television Series. Led by Karolyn, participants will gain invaluable insights into the inner workings of a writers' room, mastering essential skills, etiquette, and more, under her expert guidance.

We are also delighted to announce that while Karolyn Carnie will be working closely with the select group of five writers mentioned, we are extending a special invitation for additional writers to join and audit the highly anticipated workshop. This unprecedented opportunity allows everyone to gain invaluable insights into the inner workings of a professional writers' room and learn from a true industry expert.

By opening the doors of this workshop, we aim to foster a sense of community and provide an inclusive space for aspiring writers to enhance their skills. This unique peek into the writers' room will offer a firsthand experience of the creative process, collaboration dynamics, and the intricacies involved in crafting a compelling TV pilot.

Attendees will have the privilege of observing Karolyn's expertise in action as she guides and mentors the selected group of writers. It is an invaluable chance to witness the evolution of ideas, the art of constructive feedback, and the collaborative spirit that drives successful television writing.

  • W2 (7/30): first half of outline

  • W3 (8/13): second half of outline

  • W4 (8/27): first 10 pages (act 1 / teaser)

  • W5 (9/10): next 10 pages (act 2)

  • W6 (9/24): next 10 pages (act 3)

  • W7 (10/15): next 10 pages (act 4)

  • W8 (10/29): review completed pilot

ABOUT KAROLYN CARNIE

Based out of Toronto, Karolyn has worked on FX Networks; MRS. AMERICA, Y: THE LAST MAN, BELATED PILOT and UNT. LAUREN LUDWIG PILOT. She then joined Season 1 of Paramount Plus & CBC’s SKYMED and is Consulting producer for Season 2.

Karolyn Carnie fell in love with the power of television at a young age upon recognizing how it could unite families and strangers alike in its ability to showcase the world’s not often visible to the masses.

Karolyn has her Masters's degree from UCLA in Screenwriting and while in LA worked for SUITS, TITANS, and PEARSON. Karolyn was a judge prestigious Holly Shorts competition in their LGBTQ+ category. She was a panelist on the Hollywood Chills Screenwriting panel and was interviewed on a podcast for Hollywood women and minorities, she placed on the 2019 WE FOR SHE WriteHer List, as female writers to watch.
